Belwood Lions Pike Derby 2022

Belwood Lions 40th Annual Pike Derby is over!

No Derby for 2 years due to Covid 19 in 2020 & 2021, and then a rush to organize for 2022.
Anglers...wow...just like that..it is over!
We had a great time, we hope you did also.
Weather was mixed, started overcast and turned out a real beauti.
The fish on the other hand started off with a flurry and tailed off abruptly. Basically leaving everyone on Sunday either sporting a suntan or nursing sunburn 🙂.
As always, we had a lot of laughs and some great outdoor time together. Thanks to all the generous sponsors, to the amazing Belwood Lions team that work so hard to pull this together and of course to you the anglers that so generously support the entire event and freely contribute to all the creative ways we find to help you generate contributions to such great causes.
As announced, we continue our ongoing donation of $5000 annually to Groves Hospital, this time pledging $10,000 over two years for a Vital Signs Monitor for the Endoscopy dept. In total, we had slightly over 600 registrants and 47 fish on the board. See the official results below.

Belwood Lions complete Groves Hospital Pledge One Year Ahead of Plan-


Anglers, thank you for your registration and support of the 2022 Pike Derby and Walleye Tournament. Belwood Lions pledged to donate a Vital Signs Monitor for the Endoscopy Department in Groves Hospital with the proceeds from our Derby. Our intent was to pay to Groves the ten thousand dollar cost over two years. With your support and our corporate patrons, the success of the Derby, and the fund raising activities of the Belwood Lions Club, we have now successfully paid the pledge amount in full as of September 22, 2022.

 

Our next Derby will be held on May 27 & 28, 2023. Once again, with your support, the proceeds will be donated to another important community cause. We hope to see you next May.
